Well, been a while since I blogged here... things for a LONG time were good... what does that tell you? Of course I was due for a big fat dump of heaping steaming fecal matter poured liberally over my nugget... Work Is Like Being In The Matrix Submitted by darthsidious on Mon, 01/07/2008 - 03:14.
It really sucked going back to work, didn't it? The people you work with either have the same thirst for freedom as you do, or they are stuck living in some sort of fantasy world where they think if they work hard, they will be a CEO some day or that their boss lOvEs them or some other stupid careeristic crapola. They are either with us, or against us. You know, I was watching the matrix over the holidays and I decided to post what I think is the most relevant part of the movie: Morpheus: The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it. |
