So, I was recently passed over for a promotion/raise because I don't have past experience as a department director. That logic would be perfectly fine, except for the fact that for over 2 years, whenever the departing director was gone, I filled in, very capably, and to some, did better work than the department director. But, that isn't good enough to get me the job.
