So I'm working at this temp-to-hire gig. The deal is that I work for the temp agency for 520 hours (13 weeks at 40 hours a week) and once that's over, the company itself is eligible to hire me. Well, this is the final day of week 13, but because I didn't get credit for memorial day or July 4, I'll be done Tuesday. My boss isn't sure what to do with that, so I called the temp agency and left a message.

They emailed my boss and told her that by their calculations, I won't be done with my indentured servanthood until August 10. I sat there in my boss' office and counted out the days on her calendar. Then she showed me the email.

"By our calculations, she has 464 hours so far. That would mean she has a few weeks left, we estimate until August 10 working 40 hour weeks."

HELLO, DUMBASSES. This week was a 40-hour week, and since they didn't have my time card yet, that = 504. Add 16 hours (Monday and Tuesday) and that's 520. August 10 would put me at a whopping 648 hours.

Are they really THAT dumb?? I didn't think that was possible.
