I'm Surrounded by Idiots

I work with the two biggest imcompetents the world has ever bred. Short Round supposedly has a degree from Columbia, and Chickee is raising a child - both landmarks requiring, I assume, at least a three-digit IQ. Yet, they're freakin' morons. How difficult is it to answer phones for a living that these two are incapable of saying anything but "I don't know" into the receiver? Why, why, why must they be specifically instructed to do work - at work, mind you - lest they spend eight hours perusing Yahoo and all its glories?

I didn't get in until the lunch hour because of a doctor's appointment, and I had just put down my purse when Chickee hands me the list of items that had been requested of me while I was away. Then she went back to her instant messenger. I took a look at the list, and half of it was time-sensitive stuff that had already expired. If she complains to me one more time of all the downtime she's got, I cannot be held responsible.

How's this.....our administrative assistant can't answer simple questions, so she pesters me with the phone calls. She has the IQ of a peanut. My stupidvisor had me go to the main office and do some paperwork.... he had to ask me how to fill out the paperwork!!! We had to order some materials for a client, and he never ordered them, because he misread the order I placed. Never mind the order has the stock number on it, so he could check that. The client went over his head and talked to our main boss. The materials have been ordered.

I get badgered twenty times a day myself with crap like "where does this go?" "where do you want this?" "can you let me into the office?" (we keep it locked and only three people have the key)

OMG, you've worked here how long, find the product yourself, you're a stocker, it's your job, not mine, I don't know where I want that, I'm not the manager today, ask a manager, it doesn't matter how many times I tell them to ask a manager, they still ask me, i could be doing something very important that i've been trying to get done all day and sometimes the reason i don't get it done is because i have to let people in and out of the office every friggen three minutes!!!

Too damn many!! I can totally relate. I spend 3/4 of my day putting out some other fuckhead's fires. Heaven forbid just one other person in the building would follow through on anything.

This is why I like being in a job in which you can have "staff meetings"- this way you actually have the chance to count and do percentages-
People who are complete fucking idiots generally are in the bosses "good graces"- there is some unwritten rule on that one
People will not follow through- they will be paid anyway-
Good luck- work sucks
