Double Standards

One of the problems with this stupid company is the double standards and complete lack of any defined rules to be applied to everyone. I shouldn't be punished for being a poor negotiator.

I've been here almost ten years. I work the occasional overtime hours but don't say shit about it because it is part of the job. It says so in my contract. I've been through periods of lots of overtime, spent travel time on my days off, rang up car mileage at my expense, basically spent half a year away from my family on business, missed my youngest son's formative years, all in the name of employment. I never complained and never even dared to ask for something in return other than my salary.

It irritates me to no end now when I see other employees getting time off for overtime, re-imbursed for travel time with time off, getting money for car mileage, coming back to be at home much much more frequently than I ever did (I have frequently spent 2-3 weeks away from my family while other people only go for 5 days max), getting re-imbursed for differences in US and Canadian dollar while in the US with their families.

You want other examples? How about one brash young fuck who asked if he could use an extra company ticket to a basketball game for his girlfriend? He got the extra ticket. There was still one left. I asked for it. I didn't get it.

When I was about to take time off for the birth of my son, I was given nothing and didn't expect anything. I did get a bouquet of flowers. This new manager of mine got a baby shower for his upcoming child. Am I a lesser human being than the manager?

Fuck these double standard sons of bitches. Fuck them to hell.

Every company has the same crap.

I had the same treatment when I was working as a radio engineer. The new sales dickhead got all the perks, when all of us out the back that did all the work and generated all the income got nothing.

The same deal at Xmas when some people were ushered into the office and handed a 'secret bonus' and the rest of us got crappy $20 fruit baskets. Yay.

The tickets for the local motorsport events were always coveted by the managers little arse bandit who would never give the spare ticket to any of us engineers, we had to pay to get in. The joke was on him when I got personally invited by the event's co-ordinator to be their head technical support officer over the whole 3 day event. I got the best seat in the house AND access to the sponsor's tent. The tickets that my boss had, didn't have access at all. :) He was highly pissed when I told him. Bad luck.

We all got herded into the staff room for a meeting, told that if we didn't keep on top of our paperwork and reduce the turnaround time of repaired equipment, we would be given warnings. A customer came in barely foaming at the mouth wanting to know where their equipment was and when they cna have it back. I look up the system and don't see anything, fuck. I ask if they remember who took the repair in. The look around and point and say "HIM" (pointing at the manager). Ohhhh goodie. :D I confront the manager who turns out has had it for 2 weeks sitting in his office. So I request he comes down to the workshop and learns to fix it himself.

Double standards SUCK. Every fucking place has them, and managers are the WORST.

I'm glad I don't have to put up with this shit anymore.

That crap seems to go on at a lot of places. To hell with them. I read earlier, look at what you like not at stuff you don't. (something like that, my rendition takes away a bit of the depth) We have game tickets here too. Only the ass kissers get them. I would rather pay my way.

Dude it is case of who well you kiss the ass of your boss. Ass kissers get these perks and honest humble people get nothing extra. I hate the boss favouritism its a farce, I suggest read your company policy on overtime meal and travel reimbursements, if they allow it then just claim expenses within the policy.

Its easy for me to advise you but even i dont claim as much meals and travel as I should be all allowed within the company policy. I do notice people around me bitching about it and actually claiming very aggressively any costs they can. May be thats the way?

When I started here, I was frequently travelling by plane to one of our clients' sites. I was staying there 2 weeks at a time, spending weekends there.

Fast forward to now, and some bitch just starting out is also doing a lot of travelling. But she comes back every weekend. What the fuck?!?!? Was I less human than her? Were my family (1 year old baby) needs any less than this newly wed bitches? Pisses me off every time I think about it.

Fucking assholes.
