Not Slick EnoughWe had a guy come in with an AR-15. He starts this major bitch fest about his lane having no lights. So he switches with another guy who has lights. Now, the guy who offered to switch lanes then comes out and tries to pull one over on us by telling us he needs lights and if he can't have them he wants a discount. Well, the lanes would all have lights if people didn't shoot them out or bring in larger than needed weapons that cause the lights to burst (we are forever replacing bulbs and just can't always keep up). So they told him, to be nice, that since he can't shoot on the lane they'll give him a free range pass. He goes back out and uses his entire hour anyway, meaning the light wasn't such a big issue. He comes out when he's done, around closing, and I'm the only one there. He expects his range pass. I tell him nicely that it was offered because he couldn't shoot, but he obviously could because he stayed out there (it was a "you can have this pass because you aren't going to finish shooting due to the lights," and he did say he was not going to continue shooting because of it, but he continued anyway). He starts to argue, at which point I tell him that he was originally assigned to a lane with lights. He chose to leave that lane and swap with someone who didn't have lights, and he knew when he swapped that the guy had no lights on his lane. "I know you did it to get free range time and not out of the kindness of your heart, and it is all written on your computerizer reciept. So, sorry." And I was fully backed up when range officers came back who had witnessed the whole event. Lovely day. Well, aside from weird customers, the job is pretty decent. Almost two months and I'm not hunting for a new job yet, so that must mean something, right? Although... I did ask for a switch in possitions. :) Sometime in the next month or two I will probably be a sales person and not a cashier, which I am looking forward to. 1. More movement and chances to take bathroom breaks 2. I won't be touching money anymore, which is a major goal. I had to google AR-15. HOLY SHIT! I can't believe someone brought that into the range! Its an automatic right? That's what I thought the AR was "Automatic Rifle". Anyway if so what was he practicing? Seeing how much damage he could do? Keep an eye on the papers today, just in case he's a postal worker. Aka "chooch" The AR-15 is the civilian version of the M-16, but it is not automatic. It actually isn't that bad of a rifle. I wouldn't go small game hunting with it, but the shotguns we used at my last job were worse. I always thought the AR-15 was a pup compaired to some of the things people bring out there. The draw of it is that it is so mean looking. The scary thing is we have a bunch of postal workers with range memberships. LOL!
