Stupid vs. Dangerous Stupid

I am thinking my father is correct about my gun sales job. This job is more dangerous than armored transport. 99% of the people are armed, and out of those about 43% are stupid. Out of that 43% about 20% are dangerous stupid. Like yesterday. A girl comes in, she's a security guard, and she has to practice with this little Sig (it was the same one I own and I almost took it away from her. LOL!). She assures me about six times that the gun is unloaded, I ask to see it anyway, and she hands it to me business end first. I pull the slide and out pops a hollow point.

But yes, even in a gun store there is a difference between stupid and dangerous stupid. All stupid people are dangerous, we know this. But there is a major difference between the guy too stupid to be able to find the exit of the range (which is a 20 foot opening leading out onto the sales floor) and someone who points a loaded gun at you and swears it is unloaded while saying, "See!" as you jump forward to smack the barrel towards the ceiling or to pull the gun away as their finger is going for the trigger. And yes, people have shot the ceiling in the store.

Anyway. I have been around although not making it obvious. I am sorry about that. I am actually liking this job a lot. There isn't enough money to stay for any long period of time, but I am milking it as far as I can because I am enjoying it.

I recently switched from cashier to sales person. What I was dreding happened and one of my ex-co-workers came in to buy a gun. Thankfully it was someone I liked. He too was let go for something else, but it was even more stupid than what I was let go for. I found out from him that I was lied to in all sorts of big ways, but I won't get into that now.

But, as I said, I like the job. I've been there three months already! I can't believe it has been three months. And five since I left armored. My blood pressure has gone down a lot since then, as you can imagine.

Unfortunetly, I am currently getting over the worst flu I ever had, and we're going on two weeks battling this one. It just lingers. It has since become a sinus infection. All of this hit only a few days after I was sped off to the emergency room with pains I cannot even explain in words. Turns out I have some kind of intestinal issue from hell. Which, as the doctor said, was probably brought on from "stress and strain" related to my last job. All the lifting twisted several organs and it played hell all over the place. This all did give me one more bill to pay... $4000 for a trip to the ER. If you ever go to the hospital and aren't staying... DO NOT allow them to give you an IV. They charged me for the tape used to hold it in place! Among a shit load of other bills for the IV.

So that's an update on me for anyone who cares. :)

P.S. I had to alter my screen name here. I found out by accident that if you go to Google and do a search for SigSauer, this page pops up about second on the list. So I am still Sig, just slightly altered. :)

Half of all people have below average in intelligence.

Let that sink in for a bit.

About 20% of the population just are plain stupid as in dangerous, lack common sense stupid. These people represent the bottom 20%. The top 20% are the intelligent/bright ones.

So just remember, half of everyone you deal with has below average intelligence and half of those will be dangerous stupid....
