Snooping in the boss's files

So, the boss is out and I went snooping into the boss's files. What I found:
-a file on everyone with examples and lists of reasons NOT to give raises, promotions, etc. EXECPT, the Ass-Kisser's file was lacking these lists and examples. Exactly what I thought.

-Foung out that the Jerk who thinks I'm his personal secretary makes a lot more $ than me.

-Saw that the boss makes $100,000, plus bonus (and probably gets a car allowance, too, but didn't see any proof of that in there). Meanwhile, I am busting MY chops to do all of the Boss's reports and I don't see a penny of raise coming. I AM GOING TO KILL MYSELF DOING THE BOSS'S SHIT ANYMORE. That's it. I am going the apathy route until I find a position that pays more.

-Saw that they are going to hire a new person who does the exact same job in another department, but that new person's potential pay range starts at a higher salary than mine. I make 30. They are going to pay the new person anywhere from 35-50. Man, am I bitter.

You could have taken his files that he has on everyone and distribute them to the affected employees. Do this anonymously and then sit back as everyone goes to HR.....

Hey, it's just a thought.

I'd strike gold if I came across my boss' files...maybe one day!

I did that a long time ago at my last place - I saw it more as just having information and assessing my worth with the company.

I was on the lowest salary in the building, yet I did all the work that my stupid arse fucking bitch boss just handed out at meetings and discussed. Sometimes its good just to know - and perhaps drop the odd hint here and there about what you know.

I used to dream of having the opportunity to slip into conversation the fact my boss was on £48,000 plus bonuses yet STILL lived in a £2000 overdraft.... sadly I never got the chance.

Its good to konw these things though - can hel you decide whether you want to stay with a fucking shitty company or move on and sometimes the answer is sititng right there in the filing cabinet....
