One of my co-workers calls them Retail Rats. Those whose sole purpose is to stand at a register and ring sales while the world falls in around them. And during the off moment where they are not in their area, they go into yours and point out how awful a human being you are. You will normally find their noses planted firmly between their manager's butt cheeks.
We have obtained our own personal Retail Rat in our area. I know she isn't stupid. You can see stupid from a mile away. Glazed over eyes. A slow floating gait. Let's say her name is Numbnuts. I didn't name her that, but I like it, so I will use it.
I don't like her because she is useless in contributing to the overall function of our sales area. That was the first week. I have come to despise Numbnuts because of her Eurotrash comments about how ignorant Americans are. Being confined to 7 hours of this foolishness a day is wearing thin now. She complains how she is the only who folds the merchandise and she toils so hard, blah blah. But this is after announcing that she has never had a job before and took this job to 'see what it's like'. What the fuck?? She says she doesn't have to work. So why the fuck is she working at a clothing store? For...8 bucks an hour maybe? She is so worldy, but she has never worked? Ever? Come on, even the richest snobby brats have a job by accident.
She is a lazy, sleazy, non productive waste of space. She has quit three times in the two weeks she has been here. Not that she actually walked off the premises, but she has threatened to quit to more than one manager. Someone at HR gassed her up and said her work was so wonderful and she shouldn't leave. What this piece of shit doesn't know is that it's HR's job to keep the turnover to a minimum. Less turnover, less time and money for training and background checks for new hires. Dumbass.
What pisses me off is that somewhere there is a person who needs a job and can't have this one because Numbnuts is running off at the mouth and making her own work schedule while my Chicken Little Manager placates her and insists that the Numbnuts will be leaving soon. Sure.
