oh boy! fingers crossed-- with one month left in 2006, i may win "A-HOLE OF THE YEARD AWARD"!

i nominate myself:

for once again believeing the BS i heard in an interview-- "lies, lies, lies, yea";

for once again being a wimp not brave enough to take a different direction this year, when i had a chance to do so;

for assuming politeness will get me everywhere-- and again, falling into the trap of the nutso secretary (every engineering office has one) who feins sweetness and grace, but is really a bitch who tactfully avoids the work i need her to do;

for assuming the "commute will be worth it";

for basically being a "wh@re" and taking this job because the money convinced me it would be worth it;

for letting another year go by without establishing some direction, finding some comfort zone, some happiness is what i do for a living......;

so yes, F* This Job Academy, in your wisdom, in your insight, in your skillful choosing, you must select ME, the overworked, job-hating (for a consistent 6 years now! cant beat that), confused, mis-directioned, childish adult that i am-- you must award me THE ASSHOLE OF 2006!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

because we have all been where you are. The reason we all come on this site to bitch is because we have been/are in your position. Its ok to be human, to try, to believe. What is not ok is people exploiting other people.

Find a direction, take off, try to make next year the BEST EVER. I know you can do it jas22!

Any decision is better than no decisions. You made a move, good for you! At least you did SOMETHING.

employee from hell - this is what I've become

Well, being a demanding bitch hasn't exactly done wonders for me - which is what I have morphed into since being in this hell hole. But at least my idiot superviors stay the hell away from my desk and leave me alone, for the most part. The effect of which has been that they dump all their work on my co-workers desk, and rather than directing her ire at the appropriate source, feels persecuted by ME. How fucked is that? But I do get to come and go more or less as I please, which is why I'm at home in my pj's right now, as opposed to sitting at my desk. Called in sick you say? Noooo. I'm saving those sick days up for when I really need them. I have a "meeting" with "Jenny Adams". I suggest you aquaint yourself with "Jenny" as well. She is very demanding! I am always having to drop shit off for her, and sometimes it takes the whole afternoon...No, they are not onto me. They are too busy micromanaging my workmates. A few minutes ago I awoke from my slumber - I sat bolt upright (in my bed, at home) and my first thought was: "If those fuckers are phoning to check up on me I quit! Those bastards can got to hell" - of course, it was no one calling from work. I calmed down and made some coffee.
Yes, I am now officially the employee from hell. I do just enough to justify the pathetic wage they pay - and no more. My days of being a workhorse for those fuckers are OVER! So long as they get results, what do they care? And anyone who has the gall to lay any "work ethic" bullshit on me can go to hell. They get more out of me than they deserve - even when I'm napping!

I made my boss cry one day. She did have it coming to her though. Always looking out for her boss's ass and not her peoples. I felt guilty after but I just couldn't take any more. That day, I was the employee from hell.
