Worked for a big name corporation two months after getting my degree in CIS in May 2000. Discovered after a year and a half, that IT/helpdesk is not what I wanted to do anymore. I started searching deep w.in myself for my real passion and came up w. it.........

This past April, as I was slaving away at my fourth helpdesk job in less than six years, I found a school close to me that would allow me to pursue my dream. I applied and got accepted. Only one problem.... no night or weekend classes. I figure no problem, since the place I worked at ran 24/7/365; I would get my hours changed. Told my supervisor, and he said it wouldnt be a problem. This was June

July was uneventful as I continued to make plans for my impending return to a classroom on September 6.

When nothing was said to me about my schedule come late August, I asked my supervisor again. I told him that school started in two weeks and I wanted to know when I would be starting 3rd shift (9pm-530am) He said he didnt know, but again that it wasnt going to be a problem. When he knew, he'd let me know... Everything was great

Two fucking days later, a rep from the staffing service I was w. came out and told me that not only weren't my hours going to change, but the assbag who promised me that they WOULD change wanted me fired. When they (headhunters) refused to fire me, I was given an ultimatum: quit my job and go to school, or fuck school and keep my shitty job. I chose the job. I'm getting married next July, and need $$$. I did however, confront my livestock raping supervisor, about this and asked him why I was told it wouldnt be a problem when he knew back in June it would be. He then lied through his teeth and said, "I meant it wouldnt be a problem to bring your proposal to the attention of the other two supervisors" I am still amazed at the amount of self control I had not to sock the bastard square in the chops right then and there. $1,300 in non refundable deposits because of his fuckup mattered not to this guy. He also claimed that since he was new (I had been there about 8 months longer than him), he didnt know of the proper procedure, so he told me what I wanted to hear..... I smell libel.........

Well, even after I chose the job, and let them know that, these stonehearted bastards decided that they were going to can my ass anyway. Not only that, they fabricated some horseshit about how I was watching movies at my desk after being told not to. When I demanded an explanation as to where that came from, the president of the staffing service told me to leave his employees alone or "he would come after you for the $2,000 in medical benefits you owe us" First of all, it was his dimwitted, moronic HR department that neglected to take the money out of my check in the first place, and now that his ass is $2k in the hole, he thinks I'm bailing him out? Surely you jest....

So I was canned w.o ever being told I was! Yep! Then I was told that the dumb HR bitch "called you and left several messages on your cell phone" First of all, she knew that the number she tried calling wasnt my number anymore, because I had since moved out of state and given her my new number. Secondly, just for fun, I called the old number, and you cant leave msgs on it because you get a recording that the number is not in service anymore........................

Long story short, I was 86ed from there, and went to school anyway, but wasnt able to find a part time job to supplement my unemployment benefits. So after two months, I had to give up school, and return to this shitty field. I could scream right now I am so miserable, but being at w*rk, thats probably not wise.

Maybe someday, I'll be able to do what I want, rather than something I have to do.

Moral: dont trust anyone in a fucking office
