Something to think about

You know, I've done some thinking in the last couple of years regarding this job and career stuff that everyone gets hyped up over nowadays. I know I'm not aware of everyone's personal situation, but I honestly believe that maybe part of the reason why I haven't been hired by a lot of companies is due to either politics or perhaps they don't perceive me as a good kiss-ass to the management. Now some of you might say "no shit, Xstate, that's why we made this site". BUt, I also suspect that they don't hire because maybe the smarter or more reality based people like the ones posting here probably would either:

a. Uncover some heinous antics going on in the company.
b. Someone who has new ways of conducting business would unravel the company's infrastructure.
c. Most of the jobs being advertised are bogus ads (I call them ID mills, since many of them are trying to get your personal data for their 'records', whatever unholy purposes that may really be)

I think the reason why management is so wierd and oppressive at so many companies is the reality of our times; more and more people are questioning the motives and strategies of management everywhere, not just in business and "non-profits", but all authorities. Why do you think there is so much tension in America? Much of the management is still stuck back in 1950, where they could do no wrong, where you would be smacked in the head for a simple mistake, and where worship of the company is the norm. Last time I checked, it's 2007. Do you really think these companies stand a chance against the 21st century?

...with that one! Most companies nowdays seem to want mindless robots who never question what's going on in the company and tend to mind their own business. This is also a reason why I think I have major issues with previous jobs, I see what's going on under the surface; inefficiency, laziness on my bosses part, promoting partners, not expecting anybody to offer any input because you're expected to have none, financial diffulties, unsatisfied customers/clients, etc. etc. A lot of people nowdays are more ambitous and concerned for their own well being rather than just taking orders for a wage.

Companies want brainless robots to just blindly do what the company wants. Because if you can think, you might steal some ideas from the company, improve them and take over the business yourself, or create competition and drive them into the ground. I think most companies are not ready for 21st century and most will become a distant memory soon. Why can't I just get a job at Google, and some stock options??? Damn.
