Cold and Clammy! Submitted by Dole Bum on Mon, 05/19/2008 - 16:08.
I work on the top of a five story building with 600 staff, that means there are a lot of rooms and a lot of doors. To get to my desk, I have to pass through no fewer than eight doors. Stab Submitted by Dole Bum on Sat, 05/17/2008 - 18:19.
I work for the Department of Work and Pensions in the UK, delivering benefits to the public. I hate my job. I work on the top floor on a five story building, in a large open plan office, with around 60 other workers on the same floor. We work on a flexi arrangement, starting when we want and finishing when we want - providing we have done 7 hours and 24 minutes that day, and 37 hours that week. Over 600 staff work in the building, and so it is cramped and over used. Big Brother is Watching Submitted by SpilledCoffee on Sat, 05/17/2008 - 03:05.
The Company | Manufacturing, Production and Operation
The owner of this company is a f-ing weirdo, ex-special forces marine- Viet Nam era, who took too many whiffs of Agent Orange! Super paranoid whack-o. All our email is monitored, he gets a secret copy of every email that comes in AND goes out. All 110 employees. I thought it was weird that he asked me about emails I received. At first, I didn't know what he was talking about - since he was reading my emails before I had a chance to open them. Yikes! Nutty supervisor Submitted by tonton on Wed, 05/14/2008 - 22:27.
Boss / Manager / Supervisor | Accounting / Finance
One day, top management decided that it would be a ‘step in the right direction’ to get an assistant for our overworked CFO. It turned out the decision was not so smart since the CFO was not willing to delegate anything to anyone, least of all a new recruit. When the new guy was finally brought in, he was given pretty much the same tasks that we did with the added onus of coordinating and supervising our work - big job since that meant trying to control and supervise four unruly, laid back junior accountants. WOW, I finally found a job. I'm glad I got that fucking college degree. It didn't seem worth it at the time, but I'm glad I worked years and years and years to earn a piece of paper that GOT ME A JOB AT A VIDEO STORE AS A CASHIER MAKING $7.50/HR. It gets old after awhile Submitted by tiredofu on Mon, 05/12/2008 - 01:17.

Whenever you see job postings you can bet that they are as fictitious and devious as any type of advertising. What makes them even worse is the fact that the firms that put them on pride themselves with being ethical and professional. Case in point is the adverts that used to interest me most – those for positions in accounting departments at auditors or financial service firms. The promises are many; career prospects, work-life balance, options to work overseas, gain experience, support advancement, unleashing your potential. I wasn't going to bother.. but what the hell.. I just about gave up on this website- I figured what the fuck, nothing ever changes- why bother writing about it- but then again- I had the fucking twat bitch start her shit again and I'm thinking it's just a matter of time before I get the shove- seems when I stand up for myself is when I get shoved out of a job and then I spend months looking again- hopeful that I will find the right job and be happy for the next 10 years.. (nah) The bitch started uyp with me a few nights ago, giving all her mates 25 min. Savvy smartpants Submitted by tonton on Sat, 05/03/2008 - 13:30.
Upper management and policies | Accounting / Finance
If you work for a firm that puts business attire high on its agenda, then you are not alone. Most audit/accountant firms like the one I work for are sticklers for appearance. The big plus point of being in such a firm is that you can earn merits with the least effort. Take a look at your boss or immediate senior and if they wear shirts with French cuffs and cufflinks, do the same. Invest in a collection of assorted neckties and rotate daily – a boldly striped tie can avert attention from your ageing pinstripe and is cheaper than a suit. Boss / Manager / Supervisor | Sales
I hated my last sales job at financial services company. Money had been great, except that I was financing construction and industrial equipment and the economy turned. Well, not turned - stopped- home construction came to a halt. My sales numbers tanked, everyone slowed except our dept Suck Up. She kept getting plum accounts not affected by the recession. Layoff rumors were rampant and when I heard rumors of our division closing, I jumped ship. Right into the frickin' ocean without a life jacket I might add. Landed in manufacturing sales. Impermeable, and bullet proof. This is the only way to go forward. End of. No more. This is the time. I am no longer vulnerable. I am done. No more feeling. No more Sucker. Empathy is no longer an option. It has been sucked out of me today and I have learned. Finally, 30 years in the learning. Empathy has no value, but to make you weak and open to parasitical suffering and pain. What Should I Do? Submitted by faerycatcher85 on Wed, 04/23/2008 - 23:54.

The security guard at my job is making me feel insecure. When he first started talking to me, he was acting pretty nice (actually, pretty flirtatious). However, a few days later he calls me dumb (some people are so full of themselves!) |
