if its retail-- damn, my heart goes out to ya.

We don't have Von's where I live, but I made a business trip to California years ago and went to one of them. It's retail, what do you expect? Anything retail, groceries, customer service IS SHIT.

When I worked in groceries, I made a whole $4.25/hr, the assistant store manager was an ASSHOLE, I mean a complete, total ASSHOLE. We should be HAPPY to work in groceries, make shit pay, and be employed. Like an idiot I stayed in that SHITHOLE for 1 year. I was a courtesy clerk and we were treated lower than boot camp recruits. How do I know? I made the horrible mistake of joining the Navy.

The only thing I can say is keep looking for a new job. My last long term was a call center and I hated every single minute of it. There were guys who had been there several years who hated it, but were too fucking lazy to look for a new job. As far as I'm concerned, someone who has been at a shitty job for a few years but doesn't look has absolutely no room to complain. They are making a decision to stay.

Retail and groceries always sucks, always will. Smile at all customers, make eye contact, do ANYTHING to go out of your way to please them. Customer is a raging bitch? Yes that is what you get those big bucks for.

I was making a fucking shit $11/hr at my last call center, and I dealt with a HUGE number of plain motherfuckers. People telling me to fuck off, I'm an asshole, they hate our system and we can fuck ourselves, and I just had to sit there and take it. I recall one ASSHOLE from Texas called and told me what an asshole I was because I didn't have an answer to a problem with our web site, BUT I gave this ASSHOLE the information he wanted. I got written up and that ASSHOLE from Texas (Jason Wright, I have no problem giving his name out) got a call back from our KISS ASS supervisor saying how sorry she was. Although I noted on his account that he was an ABUSIVE CALLER and threatens people with violence. Jason, you ARE fucking piece of shit.

When I gave my notice I made it VERY clear I will never be back, and $11 isn't anywhere near enough to do with customer service HORSESHIT. With 5 days notice, I threw down my badge and said FUCK THIS SHIT, I'm out of here and customers can kiss my fucking ass.

Put your resume on craigslist and see what happens. It took me 7-8 months to get out of that fucking shitty call center. Retail and groceries are just as bad.

I paid my dues in customer service and refuse all offers for any job no matter what the pay is.
