Sad Life!

My heart aching as I’m typing this, I just can’t believe that I reached this limit!
I’m a Freaking Engineer … started my “First” job as a Senior Engineer and elevated within 2 years to a Project Manager and within 6 months to Business Development Manager … and here I am … a year later … 3 years of work and a manager already... lucky right?! Well NOOOOOOOOOOOO … NOT LUCKY … I HATE IT … I’m chocking with tears … I HATE IT … I would rather cooking or cleaning someone’s house rather than doing any of those jobs … This is too painful … I left my last job and I don’t want to go back … The manager calling me often and asking me to come back … but I can’t … and what’s hurting me even more that I like art and design … and no one will take me in those fields with my freaking Engineering degree … no one willing to give me a chance … I want to design … am damn good at it and it’s all I want to do … this is NOT FAIR … I really don't know what to do!! :””(

All we have to do is invent a machine where I am transferred into your body and yours into mine.

I'm not entirely sure what your problem is because it sounds like a wonderful problem. why don't you try:
1) Go back to work to give yourself a sense of prid eeven if it is part time.
2) Go to school for design / art in your time off work
3) Build a portfolio of work so you can present it to a potential employer
4) Build a resume
5) Do volunteer work with kids related to art or design to show off your skills
6) Display your work in prominent places, donate some to businesses

If that doesn't work, I just want you to know I hate people who ahve problems as wonderfula s yours :)

my advice would be to stick it out. this doesn't mean you have to stay with your current employer, though.

get out of management. im not sure what disipline of engineering youre in, but maybe in design capacity you can use the creativity you have while still putting your degree to use.

you CAN do art-- as a hobby, on the side.

look, i hate my job, but with some time and experience, you might find your field more diverse than you previously knew. you must admit, also, Mona, engr. pays the bills, and then some.

good luck with your decisions....
