The salaries nowadays are just as believeable as our inflation statistics.

CPI = Inflation of computers, toilet seats, lawn crap, and everything else made in China

Real inflation = 10 - 20% per year depending on location in the USA.

What is happening here is the value of the dollar is declining mainly because the fucking printing press at the reserve banks are working overtime to print the shit usa currency. The purchasing power of the dollar is down about 95% from the 1960's. In 1970's or early 80's if someone made $10/hr car cost $4000, house cost $30,000. Now the fucking shit company fucks pay $10/hr and a car costs $25,000 and a house $300,000. I don't know how the fuck this economy keeps fucking going but I guess by all the cheap money floating around from the inflated home equity and folks borrowing against that shit just to make ends meet.
There are more folks unemployed than the statistics suggest. Folks just living off credit and shit because they cannot get jobs.
I have a few friends that have been looking for jobs for fucking months. One is an electrician, with years of experience, he is a bit older so nobody wants to hire him, you know learning curve, health insurance is more expensive, he wants a higher salary etc etc. He has been living off his home equity line of credit for the past 2 years, and digging himself deeper, still no prospects for a job. Another guy has been in the security business for about 6 years, still can't get hired for some reason.
There are plenty of jobs that pay under $10/hr, but nobody can be reasonably expected to live on that shit.
I myself am currently looking for a job already for over a month(have been doing shit temp work up to now), I have a college degree in finance which to totally fucking useless it seems. I have been sending out resumes for the past month through careerbuilder and monster.com and some other shit sites, and you know what NOT ONE FUCKING PHONE CALL BACK. ZIPPO!!!! Can you fucking belive this shit???? I'm even applying for jobs that I can do with my eyes closed....and NOTHING!!!! I'm starting to think if I don't get anything in the next month I will just fucking apply for welfare and fuck it. If they won't pay one way let the motherfucker corporate fucks pay in their taxes. I have a couple of kids so this should not be a big problem. Already getting healthcare from the state for free, since I made dog shit and the fucking companies want to charge me $150 per week for fucking health insurance.
I do watch the financial news...this sub-prime mortgage blowup is just the TIP of the FUCKING ICEBERG. Bankruptcies are going to skyrocket, forclosures are already starting to skyrocket. Once people use up their fucking credit limits up and cannot get any more there will be a fucking revolution or something. This shit cannot go on that is for sure. The pay people fucking dogshit while the corporate motherfuckers make TENS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS in salaries and most of them don't do dogshit just rely on advisors and consultants to give them all the data. Fucking shit.
Country is going to shit. Recession started by a real estate bust will just get worse. Dollar will keep losing value. Federal Reserve Bank is printing fucking money in overdrive to pay for all the bullshit war in Iraq and all the other government waste. As there is more and more money in circulation it's worth less and less.
Gas at the pump will probably hit $4 or more in the next year or two.
It's total bullshit I know, they are fucking killing the middle class off.

It shouldn't be a surprise that we as a country haven't been doing well for the last 20 years or so. My honest opinion, regarding politics anyways, is that our country is past the 'imperialist dictatorship' era. It probably ended sometimes in the 1980s. I honestly think that most of the politics in the last 25 years are not to set up a dictatorship or to better our lives, protect us from 'terrorists', etc., but to keep the country from flying apart. It won't work, and the powers that be know it. That's the main reason for all of the draconian legislation, especially since bush was elected. I know it's tempting to pin the blame on BUsh, and he isn't a good president at all, but I know that most of the problems we face today are because of our actions from decades ago.

Yes, the Fed is printing up tons of money, but that's not a sustainable economic policy. Only if they have a death wish would they institute a hyperinflationary policy. I can't imagine that Washington would let us figure out what they really intend to do so easily. I honestly think that, given all the economic problems in the USA, we're on a crash course for economic collapse. I think your best bet is to walk away from the old economy and try to participate in it as little as possible. I'd go to a area of the country where you get along better with the locals if you don't already where you are.

Convert you cell phone to prepaid, use it only when you really have to, get rid of the monthly contract shit. But food and other shit when it's only on major sale, stock up on shit when it gets cheap. Pay off fucked up credit cards in full each month. Boycott all the corporate fucked up shit out there. That will fucking show these mofos who is in charge and it's the consumer.

In USA we got: federal tax, state tax(most states), sales tax, car tax(stupid window stickers and plate stickers), utility tax, social security tax, medicare tax, fucked up property tax, etc etc. And what do we fucking get for this shit???? NOTHING!!!! Streets are fucked up, cops are crooked, politicians spend your tax money faster than a goodam cheetach, no goddam health care system.... what the fuck am I paying all this tax for...I don't get shit back. Think about it how much you really have left over after you pay all these goodam taxes. Probably less than 50% of your wages. Fucked up is all I have to say. Fucked up.

Feel lucky that you're making 10/hr. I'd kill for hourly pay like that. I just got hired at a retail store -- a Video Store to be more precise, making --- 5.65 a fucking hour. I'm a full time college student and I'm getting married in June. My fiance only makes 6.50 an hour. Neither of us is an idiot, and we've both graduated high school and are halfway through undergrad.

In fact, I'm smarter than my boss... I'm smarter than my assistant managers.

I tried to find a decent paying job in my area for five months with no success, and had to settle for this shitty job. I go to school for four or five hours, then go directly to work for eight. I don't get home until one or two in the morning most days, and my boss gets to go home and sit on his ass at ten p.m.

The American economy sucks asshole. My fiance and I can barely tread water. We only have rent, electricity, cable, groceries, and fuel to purchase -- but on a combined salary of 12.05 an hour, we don't know if we'll be able to eat some weeks... making us have to ask his parents for help.

Fuck this country... it's not the one our grandparents fought and died for. Captialist pigs are fucking up the lives and jobs of the general American public, to pad their pockets and keep us slaves chained to our meager weekly paychecks.
