I can't believe this...

You would not believe what happened yesterday. Monday night I sent an email telling those involved that I would most likely not be in the next day due to feeling really horrible. I had a massive headache, that only today is starting to fade. I also told them that I'd call before I was to come in and let them know how things looked.

I called my co-worker first & everything was fine, she had no problems. I then called my supervisor who immediately freaked on me because "we have such a big paper and I'm worried they can't handle it" Then she proceeded with "You need to at least come in and check on them, you don't have to work the whole time... etc"

What a, excuse my language, fucking bitch. Who the hell tells employees that they have to come in when they're sick? I couldn't believe she actually told me that.

That's everyday stuff at my company.

When we're very busy and I call in sick, the owner will call me up or anyone and say "Can you come in and work just a couple of hours?"!!!!!

Even when you are DYING SICK he still does it. Believe it. You are not alone.

P.S. And we don't get paid for sick days either!!!

That we had to put up with under a certain Pennsylvania governor with the initials RT. You all know the one. . .worked in the GB the first adminstration.

Anyway, this Secretary of Administration (hereinafter referred to as "Fool") had a policy (yes, a POLICY)
stating that all Civil Service Employees were lazy dogs who only ever
lied about being sick. Managers were constantly reminded to dun employees who were sick. Under this Fool's reign, a pregnant woman
was fired for leaving the job site (went into labor--had to go to the
hospital right from work), and two others were fired when they didn't
call in sick (one was in the ICU due to heart attack, and the other
was in a coma due to a car accident). Things got progressively worse and worse, with people being given written reprimands for taking time off to care for sick children and for taking time for loved ones' funerals.

Needless to say, the State Employee Union got into the fray and
told Governor T that the Fool had to go or else he would be facing a
wildcat strike.

The Fool went to Rite Aid. The rest is history.

That never happened to me but if it did I think I would spontaneously combust.

THE NERVE! But you know what, the same will happen to them one day. I love to think people get a taste of their own medicine eventually (and it's true!)
