Office Dirt and those who collect it...

Yep... still contracting in the Middle East and loving it to a certain degree... Its entertaining between roadside bombs and the "Death to the Infidel" locals, but hey... REAL money thats tax free can't be beat.

What could be beat or rather SHOULD be beaten are some of my fucking co-workers who do the bare minimum to get by and have been 'getting over' for the past 2 years because they have dirt on the fucking bosses. It's like because they know that Manager "A" has been fucking Female Coworker/Drone "B" and that Manager "A"'s wife would cut his balls off for inserting 'Tab A' into 'Slot/Slut B', these weaselly little fuckstains get to roll around doing next to nothing, and letting the rest of us poor pricks shoulder the burden. Nevermind that I know the same exact dirt, and have thought about diming out these fucko-the-clown-shoe-wearing assholes, but it generally goes against my sense of honor and duty to dime out someone randomly... or even to get ahead. I mean I have no problem stabbing someone in the front, (either metaphoriclly or physically) but it's against my nature to do dirty on someone from behind. I'm the kind of guy who'd prefer to just take out my Hi-Power and stuff it in your mouth and tell you flat out "I'm gonna scatter your shit to the wind if you even LOOK at me again, capische?" whilst cocking said pistola. (Its effective.... last guy I did that to soiled hisself something aweful.)

But I digress per usual. These asshole have so much political/sexual dirt and shit on each other, I'm amazed the mission even gets accomplished. It doesn't help out that when our PM in-country, he made the beast with two backs with every single female that was willing on the team... and that mean ALL of them because it now means job security for them skanks. The PM gets to think he's "Kid Kool" for boffin all these pigs, and the pigs all now never have to worry about being shitcanned...

People who should have been fired get promoted, all on the basis of the Dirt that they have, rather than the skill sets... Ugh...

Makes me glad I'm just a grunt 'on the line' and that I can vent my frustrations out on the Bad Guys.

I have no military knowledge and would never claim to. Can't relate and can only begin to fathom the crap and extreme personal stress that goes with that job. It is a world unto itself that no one can understand unless they are personally involved in it. But, that shit sounds like all the normal shit that goes on in the non-military world of work. Only magnified ten thousand times and in your face daily, and in an environment where that shit is not supposed to happen. Totally different work environment to say the very least. Ahh, yeah. Different.
Stressful. Understatement.
From my small knowledge of military hierarchy and procedures, for the life of me, I can't understand how people stand it.
Even ten or fifteen years ago, but now...holy shit.
We have kids joining now on the promise of free education, training, careers and all the normal things that young people used to choose the military for. Except now, we are not going to be "peace keepers" and there is an alomost certain guarantee that you will land in Kandahar very soon. And a very high percent that you may come home in a box.
I have no personal opinion on the war that I would state here. Because it doesn't matter.
Basically, I have changed my whole opinion on the people who are there lately (all nations), just through listening and reading and losing my narrow opinion of whats going on and who is doing what.
I guess you just really never figure on the shit that happens in our work-a-day world happening in such an alien landscape to us.
Very enlightening.

Yeah... the poor shmucks who get conned or railroaded into the service these days have my utmost respect/pity. I did 10 years before this insanity started, and was lucky enough to get out completely scot-free of Uncle Sugar and his hollow promises of glory and adventure before this whole rigamarole started. It's because of them that I originally started this Bizzarro Oddessy Overseas... primarily out of a misguided belief in "Supporting the Troops" and being there to help out, because as a Vet, I remember when it WASN'T cool to help out and support the kids in the field.

Personally, as much as it pains me, we should be calling it a day and concentrating on the "Home Front." The Iraqis are NEVER going to pick up ANY slack in any way, shape or form. They're the epitome of lazy scum who wouldn't do a damned thing to save themselves, and their current government is only sticking around long enough to inflate their bank accounts and loot the country for their own profit until they have to vamoose. The day-to-day 'Boots on the Ground' mean well, and really would like to save their country, but the ones in charge? Who as they say, is shitting who? I mean really... where DID 21 TRILLION dollars go? I mean shit, I'm a contractor, and yeah KBR and others did put a hurting on the purse, but 21 TRILLION being dumped into a money pit without a single decent return? Fuck that. I'd rather see my job terminated and me come home than to see another kid hurt or KIA'd. If it meant my family had to live in poverty, then so be it.

But yes, the one demonstrative thing about this whole war on terror is that it's allowed the Corporate-Slavetocratcy to shed its mask and show it's true colors. No longer do they hide their adgendas... they pretty much tell you to your face "Be a good little slave or die in poverty... we control you, we own you and do as we say, not as we do, or you'll be fucked."

Oh well... c'est la guerra.
