New here

This is my first entry, and I just wanted to let off some steam about today. Here are just a few of the examples from today, that make me hate my job more and more every day.

This morning, when I got to work, I signed in (yes, signed in...we don't have timecards, we actually write down what time we get there, promoting people to lie about when they got there) at my normal time - 7:30. About 10 minutes later, my supervisor came to me and asked, "You DO know you weren't suppoed to get here until 8:00, right?" Now, I've been at this job for over two and a half years, and I've always been scheduled to get there at 7:30. As a matter of fact, I used to get there 10-15 minutes early to get everything ready for the day and try to get a head start since none of my other coworkers ever got there on time...
"No," I replied.
"Did you not look at the schedule when you left yesterday?" she asked me, already beginning to be a smart ass.
"No, it wasn't posted yet when I left." She clearly didn't believe me. I stood there, accepting the ass-chewing for showing up 30 minutes early when I had never been told not to.
About 15 minutes later, my supervisor came to me and said, "Oops, my bad, I didn't post the schedule until after you left. Sorry."

Later on this morning, as I was catching up on my correspondence (that makes me sound fancy), I noticed one of my coworkers taping shut the flaps on every one of a stack of envelopes. I told her, "You know, the machine will seal those for you, so you don't have to do that." She just looked at me like she didn't give a fuck and kept on taping. She stood there and wasted 15 minutes doing something completely unnecessary, which meant that for 15 minutes -I- had to do -her- fucking job.

This morning, through some miracle of scheduling (my supervisor is horrible at her job and is afraid to make people mad [except me apparently], so assigns way too many people to jobs and expects me to pick up their slack from where they're really needed) there were SEVEN people assigned to do a job that takes FOUR people to do. So what does that result in? A lot of standing around. And I was the only person scheduled to do what I was doing, which is a job that takes two or three people. But instead of helping me out every now and then, they all just stood around and talked and fucked off all day. This is what happens EVERY DAY. And today, forgive me, but I really didn't feel good at all. And not a single fucking one of them so much as offered to help me until 4:00 - 30 minutes before I was supposed to leave. Thanks a lot, selfish bitches.

Later on, when I'm not drunk and in a hurry, I'll go into more detail about what my job is and why I hate it. I just wanted to introduce myself as another dissatisfied, overworked, underpaid individual that's wandered onto this site :)

Sorry you are at that point, too. But, at least now you know you are not the only one.
