Makes it rough when you have people who genuinely respect you offer you more money and express that they hope you will be with them for a long time when you are hating the job and want to get away from it. It almost makes me like the job all over again.

Some of the corporate people are some of the dumbest motherfuckers I have ever seen. These are people from good families, with college educations - who couldn't think their way out of a wet paper bag. My case in point: a person, a manager, who had been working at the facility for years, a few short weeks before Christmas, without warning, without ever having been written up for anything - was fired two days ago during the normal course of a business day. They called him into an office and told him he was terminated and asked him to sign the termination papers. Their reason? "Consolidation", i.e., downsizing.

Along with the negligence, abrasiveness, carelessness, thoughtlessness and stupidity and all the damage it caused to this man's world all in the span of 0.00 seconds - what do you suppose happened next?

Well, yeah - he went off.

He went off in a burst of screaming and yelling and making threats and accusing those who were firing him of doing so for "personal reasons". He went off to other offices and screamed at other people, much to their surprise, and made threats at them too. He stormed off the property in his car yelling and screaming all the way. O.K., problem solved, right? Wrong.

They fired this guy without first asking him for the keys to the offices and parts of the facility he was responsible for up until just a few seconds ago. He left without an escort after opening drawers and taking papers out of them. No one protested. They just let him walk out of the office and let off his steam throughout other offices, do whatever he wanted and then walk out of the building. It's a darn good thing this guy didn't decide to take a swat at someone. Anyway, after everything was said and done - they finally called security.

Got the buggy in front of the horse a little bit, do ya think?

The moral of the story is: If you're going to fire someone around the holidays the way they fired this man and you don't know what the fuck you're doing - you deserve whatever you get.

"I think the world of you. Oh, and by the way - you're fired."
