Money is not everything and that is the truth. Yes, costs have gone up and yes bosses keep bitching but they are the ones with summer and winter homes, cottages and 3 or 4 high end vehicles. The economy is going into a fucking tailspin and it's not going to end until it hits the very bottom. No more $10/hr folks buying $350K+ homes. While $40/hr might sound like a lot, when you figure no benefits and inflation and taxes, it's really not as much as it appears. America is slowly going down the shitter. Time will come when America will just become a shit poor third world country. Hell, even the Roman Empire fell and they thought they were going to rule forever. Time for America is slowly coming to an end. Georgie will bankrupt this goddam country and leave it in ruins for the next sucker to be elected, then blame everything on him/her.
Fuck the $40/hr job,...cash in your 401K(while the US dollar is still worth something), move to Panama, where it's still cheap and live like a king.

Yep. You are right. $40/hr must seem like a huge amount to most people but consider this:

- I am 39 years old.

- I have been doing software for 16 years professionally. 16 hours a day most of the time.

- I have written 15 successful commercial software products.

- I even invented a huge new software market segment 10 years ago that is now a $100 million a year industry and I never saw a penny for that one.

You'd think that I'd be retired or filthy rich like Google folks but guess what? I'm not. I'm barely making it. What does that tell you about the AVERAGE person's chances in America? We are all FUCKING DOOMED.

$40/hr == $80K a year. Wouldn't you say, based on my accomplishments that I deserve more than $80K a year at my point in life? I think I do.

I made $50/hr the 2nd year I started working - 1993. Adjust that for CPI inflation for 14 years and you get $87/hr. So I am really making LESS than what I made my 2nd year out of college! And I don' think there's one in 100,000 thousand people who have accomplished what I have.

Figure after taxes I am making $20, rent + utils + food == $2K a month. Car, gas, insurance, an emergency buffer, and you know what, it's gone. $40/hr is nothing. Two married people who work and make $10/hr each are BARELY scraping by.

The bankers are angry at us. We almost paid off the national debt in th 90s with the boom we created. They had to devastate the American workforce so that they can keep us in debt and keep their debt-business going. Everything in America is paid for with debt.

Meanwhile these golfing 'business' fucks have been manipulating our wages downwards since 1998. They get the huge profits and bonuses, we the people who make the products get 1/2 what we are worth.

They all think they automatically deserve to be Bill Gates when none of them is producing any value. Well, life doesn't work that way. So because they cannot produce value, they have to take the well-deserved earnings away from the workers in order to make that kind of $ and gratify their egos. Most of them fancy themselves some next-Bill Gates when in fact they are worthless golfing jerks who leave at 3PM every day.

I am serious about the country thing. There are countries in the world that still focus on creating greatness and taking care of their workers. America cannot survive demotivating its workforce like this.

I'm tired of this dump, too. The whole North American Union scheme is being orchestrated by the Chindians and megacorporations. The bottom line is a small elite will reap the lion's share and everyone else will be making Mexican wages while being force-fed the idea that cheap Chindian goods need to be booted into our bloodstreams like smack to a heroin junkie. I figure if I had my choice of Orwellian super-empire in which to live, it'd be East Asia, preferably Japan. They may work to death, but they still live a long time and are healthier than we can ever hope to be. And you don't see Japanese bums on the street, now do you? They take pride in EVERYTHING they do and their CEO's only make up to 100 times what the lowliest toilet scrubber makes, whereas here it'll be pushing 600X by 2010. I say American citizens have never had LESS control over their own destiny than now. It was more stable when the British were handing our asses to us in the War of 1812. The Iraq War is just a distraction for the SPP to become the NAU. Read the news bites, all those deals are going on behind CLOSED DOORS with no media access, no congressional oversite, or anything else from Canada, Mexico, and especially the United States. I'm not a gun-nut or anything, although I do like going to the range once in a while, but dollars to donuts the first sign that the NAU exists will be the 2nd Amendment along with half the Constitution, and Bill of Rights becoming null and void. I'm hoping the Fairtax thing might put the breaks on this bullshit, look it up sometime, www.fairtax.org. Think about it, remove all the embedded taxes, bullshit IRS, and payroll rape, and you'll be able to claim 100% of your paycheck and decide what portion you'll be taxed based on the amount of services or products you buy. In the meantime, your check WON'T be raped every week/biweek, you'll have taxtation WITH representation for the first time since The Gilded Age! Also, with that bullshit 35% business tax that corporations avoid completely or pass onto you by offshoring jobs, plants, and mail boxes gone, we'll actually be the new tax shelter for THE WHOLE WORLD MARKET! People will actually be REWARDED for saving and investing because no matter what your balance/dividends, they won't be taxed. The social security/medicare boomers will still get their checks, but the funds will be in the BLACK! Think about it, the tax code is so complicated because we let the government brainwash us into accepting this without objection or by being distracted by gay marriage/flag burning/ or any other assorted bullshit that have completely let us forget about what really matters in life, our national sovereignty, and representation for us instead of an elite of politicians and lobbyist cocksuckers. It can go one of two ways, U.S. citizens can take back the laws that have been corrupted, or we can sell our souls to foreign powers and corporate interests until there are only haves and have-nots. There will be no such thing as the Middle Class under the latter option. I think it's time Americans quit bitching about how politics are boring or of no interest to them. Maybe if we beat the dickheaded Corporatocracy running the ape asylum with their own laws, things might actually get better? Keep it evil...

Work and USA have become like some Grand Theft Auto: Vice City video game.

Corporate execs are the criminals. They rape and plunder the USA for their own benefit. They think by cutting Americans' wages or importing cheap Chindian labor they are lining their own pockets.

Except now it's coming back to bite them in the ass: the dollar is falling and other currencies are rising, mainly due to the fact that USA doesn't produce anything anymore and our economic and industrial bases are being gutted out. What our own execs can't see, is very obvious to the rest of the world.

So now Americans have no more money to spend and are taking their last $ out of their houses to survive which is the real reason for the 'mortgage crisis'. The banks are secretly failing and scrambling to stay in biz.

Meanwhile our corporate 'leaders' have succeeded in exporting all of our wealth in the interest of cheap labor so now both our assets and our manufacturing and production bases are GONE.

A nation cannot prosper if it doesn't produce and sell anything.

Our enemies - China, India, Venezuela, Russia, Iran are all getting stinking rich on this insane job/industry export. Our wealth is shifting to those countries. People like the nutjob running Iran are trying to create a dollar panic so other nations will dump dollars, collapsing our currency and turning us into the next Mexico or Brazil.

Then our corporate execs whine "We can't find enough people to sell to". Well, no shit DUMBASS - you have to PAY people if you want them to have money to BUY. You keep pushing wages down and exporting jobs but at the same time you want American consumers to buy your products. What kind of shithead fantasyland are you living in?

Even Henry Ford said "I have to pay my people enough to enable them to buy my product".

Every American exec thinks he is Bill Gates and since they can't produce value the way a MS or Apple does, they have to get their $40 mil bonus any way they can - and right now they do it by giving away our jobs and wealth to foreign nations. Not too smart Mr. Dumbass Corporate Moron.

They will be the first ones whining when the economy collapses and they lose everything - even though the mess is of their making.

Meanwhile China holds $8 trillion in dollar reserves which they can dump at any second plunging us into depression.
