I feel like shooting myself.....

Well, today was a banner day for me whoo-hoo!! First of all my students were insane because it rained and we had to travel through outdoor breezeways. They screamed and stomped in every puddle they saw. My ears are still ringing and its after midnight.

To top it all off, during reading remediation, my new principal decided to walk in and do a worksite observation. Under normal circumstances, this would have been ok EXCEPT for the fact that the other two teachers did not show up to take their groups away, so I had oh..15 in a small group and only 6 books to share amongst the kids. They were antsy and noisy and whiny ( I can't see the book.... Jacob's blowing his breath on me....JaKendrick is passing gas ETC ETC) I was getting very aggravated so I made it a point to tell the children that we were going to have to share the materials and get along because the other teachers didn't show up and our group was too big. The principal looks up from her notepad and says..."Oh, the other teachers didn't come?" (DUH!!!!!!! I am only supposed to have 5 kids in my group) She promptly got up and left. Grrrrrrrr I'll probably be in trouble tommorrow. LIKE IT'S MY FAULT!!!!!!

Oh...and then the assistant principal comes down during social studies (2:30) We are doing small group projects and the room is very noisy....She's probably going to bitch about that too.

I am so tired of killing myself and getting kicked in the face in return. Teaching is a truly thankless career! I am desparate to find a new career....I have an elem ed degree with 10 years experience....any suggestions? Something with no children involved??!!

BTW...please excuse any typos...Its almost 1 am and I can't sleep because I am having panic attacks about going to work tommorrow. God help me....please...... :(

She taught jr high. Got pissed due to disrespectful kids, and became a paralegal for the government for several years... until I married her and took her away from all that.

She is now a stay at home mom with 4 well behaved kids.

There are organizations that provide services to youth that want to be educated. They may have some pretty severe stories, but they are needing someone that gives a shit. It could turn the whole thing around for you. Try organizations that provide employment training, they could have a GED component. Perhaps your training as an Elem teacher would work even though it's HS type activity.
