Whatever road I take, there's a dead end

When it comes to working, I feel like I have to decide whether I'd rather have a job with more responsibilities, thus more pay, or something with less responsibilities, thus lower pay . Both situations are almost equally stressful (let's face it, not having money can be stressful too). I don't have a degree or any type of certification yet, so my job options are limited. I just started this new job, about 1.5 weeks ago. As you may of already guessed, I
really don't like it. My manager loves talking about himself, it's driving me crazy.
I'm trying to "be nice", but I really would love to ask him to shut up and remind him that
I only work with him because he's my manager, I don't have any other choice.
Would that be enough of a wake-up call?!
