I think I'm ready to quit my job

We got a new boss and he expects me to learn project management in a few weeks. I tried reading books and shit but I just can't grasp the concepts. He's a fucking certified PMP so how in the fuck can I garner that knowledge in two weeks. I've been sleeping like shit for the last few weeks. I'm just so sick of feeling like I'm gonna get fired any day now. I've just completed a freelance project for my old boss and he was really happy with it. I'm thinking of quitting this job, pays $20.50/hour, and going back to my old one that pays $11/hour. I could maybe squeeze $13 out of him considering the experience I will be bringing to his office.

I really need advice guys. I'm so stressed out and I'm ready to walk out of this clown show.

What doesn't that cheap ass provide you with a course to attend? When I was in college, there was a whole course on project managment along with an 800 page textbook. If you're stessed out, project mgmt may not be right for you esp, if they are very complex projects with zillions of variables. That will only add stress. My 2cents

don't quit, it's better to get fired. don't know about you but in my neck of the woods you get 55% for unemployment, that's more than a cunty 11$ an hour for you.

I'd rather leave on my own terms than someone fire me.

Sometimes a new boss will look for a patsy. But they usually invest at least a mininmum amount of time grooming and gaining trust for the set up. Someone they can set up to take the fall for the failure of a project. Or a difficult task that they either have no idea how to handle or just don't want to. They may put a bright spin on it as an opportunity to prove yourself, your skills, etc...even when it is well out of your depth.

I would be wary of this. It seems doomed, like you are being set up to fail, and hey, the boss takes no shit for it, he/she just gets to replace you. And even if you somehow tax yourself to the limit and succeed, I'm gambling that your reward will be another project. No more money or promotion, just glory. And that boss will reap the rewards.

I don't know, with the information you gave, I could be totally off base here, but it's my guess.
