first of all let me say i actually like my job as far as the duties that i handle day to day, and i get along reasonably well with my co-workers. i have been with the company for almost 5 years now and while there have been situations that were completely unfair, i was able to just forget about it, moveon. i am a pretty easy going girl. however, i have found out about something that has me so pissed i can barely even stand it. i go to work everyday now with it on my mind. you see, during the summer months it usually gets pretty busy where i work, so we always get temporary summer help, usually a college student. well, last summer and this summer, we have had the same girl who is now finishing up her first year in college. i will call her suzy. suzy happens to be the best friend of the daughter of the manager of the building. so, even though she is only 19, she has been working at the place since she was 15 during the summers, even though company policy says you must be 18 to work here. and other young people who wanted to work here before college were turned away because they had a whopping month to go before they turned 18. suzy told me she cant even believed they gave her a pay check the first 2 years she worked here because she didnt do jack shit. and the only reason she actually has had to work the last 2 summers is because she came to my dept. instead of the usual walking around with her thumb up her ass that she did previously. ok great i said. then she gets her pay check one night when i was working with her. she says to me " wow i got like a 2 dollar raise this summer" i just about shit my pants. 2 dollars! compared to my usual 30 cents a year right. but i didnt say anything cuz its embarrasing. so then she says " yeah normally we would get like 50 cents for every summer we come back, not 2 bucks!" again i was sickened because even the 50 cents is more then me but whatever. then she tells me exactly how much she is making. get this, she a stupid summer help kid who is making only 30 CENTS LESS THEN I DO!! I have been a full time employee at this dump for 5 years and this brat is making almost as much as me!? i wanted to start screaming right then and there but i controlled myself. not only that but the managers own daughter works there too, so the too little cunts both the big ol' pay increase. and what a coincidence the pay hike comes the whores are both in college now and really need the money. so i go to my supervisor with this info and she cant believe it either. she then goes to human resources, who tells her "o well, so and so says they needed a raise since they haven't had one in awhile." what do you call 50 cents more every summer? then my supervisor tells hr the fact that suzy is only making 30 cents less then a full time employee. hr just shrugs the shoulder because there is nothing they can do about it. it is so sickening how the place works. it is totally who you know and not how hard you work or long you have been there. i swear i have been the laziest piece of shit ever since i found this out. i used to work really hard because i'm one of those types that really hate lazy workers and shit laying around so i always got extra shit done. i would organize and just go above and beyond what was expected. NOT ANYMORE! THE BITHCHES CAN KISS MY FAT WHITE ASS! i do just enough not to get into trouble. otherwise i am on my mp3 player or the internet. and what really chaps my ass is that there really isnt a damn thing i can do about the situation. it is who you know and who you blow around the joint. and the place is so sickening when it comes to who they've been hiring. a couple of snot nosed brats got hired for $ 100,000 a year almost to do god knows what. and why? because they close family friends to upper managers. nice huh? o how i wish i could just give everyone there the finger and tell them where to go and just quit.
