Well, turns out &%*#cote is biting. I'm supposedly starting next week. Turns out they're killing their Dearborn and Wixom facilities and consolidating them into the brand new Warren lab. The catch, if I'm starting next week, I'll likely be trained in Dearborn until all the torture rigs and laboratory apparati are installed in Warren. So I'll probably be going to bed at 9 P.M., getting up at 4 A.M., and going to work at likely 6:30 or 7:00 in Dearborn for 2 or three weeks. They didn't name wages, but I'm betting they're close to or above living. The benefits are ASTOUNDING for a non-degreed lab monkey job. 3 sick days and 2 personal days in the first year, more than CMFC! One year in, 2 WEEKS PAID VACATION!.. That alone screams $13+/hr. Best part, they'll be training me to do EVERYTHING. No more scraping my nose on the titanium hillbilly ceiling or getting butt-fucked with a sandpaper condom with rock salt lubricant by greedy management! This might just put the kibosh on my skilled-trades pipe-dreams for at least a year and might afford me a chance to articulate through WSU's Macomb satellite. Who knows? I hoard my money, I could probably shack up with one or two people and get on with my life. Now comes the shitty part, the waiting game... Keep it evil...

Today I came to the conclusion that nobody wants me to do the job I was hired for. None of the menial work that they ask me to do ever gets properly scheduled. This means I have to go around the plant pissing people off by begging resources from one department or another on bended knee at inconvenient times for everyone. My asshole supervisor lectured me yesterday about my project not getting completed even though he never scheduled the resources I needed when I told him I needed them the last four months in a row, and kept handing other stupid projects off on me and telling me that my project wasn't a high priority every time I asked. So today I had to go begging for resources from another department to finish the job and I had to go and beg the shit-heel director of another department for staff and tools. He got pissy and told me to go through proper channel. I don't fucking blame him, but let's face it, my boss is as useless as Tits on a Fire Hydrant and I can't get him to do shit for me no matter how much paperwork I cram down his throat. Everyone at the plant knows this and either the shield themselves from him with procedure and paperwork or they just give up. He doesn't know his own job and he's a shitty manager. He couldn't plan his way out of a paperbag, and it would be cheaper to make our products ot of fifty dollar bills than have him try to pretend to be a project manager. It's funny, but ever since the guy started there the company has been losing money and the executive management doesn't seem to see that. Every time something about the guy pisses me off and I mention it to a co worker they say "Yeah, thats just one of the things that'll drive you crazy".

The company I work for is run by a bunch of metally deficient anthropoids. My boss, an engineer no less, thinks product design begins and ends with a doodle on a cocktail napkin. I have been a product designer in this particular industry for ten years. When this big, prominent company lured me away from a job I really liked, I thought ,"finally, the Major Leagues have called me up."
This company is a fucking joke.
If I was allowed to design products from the ground up, they would be efficiently prototyped, have minimal corrections after prototyping, have predictable and reliable performance characteristics and be as cost effective to make as possible. Instead, I have to start with an exsisting product that was badly designed from the start (you can tell by the number of band-aid fixes and the poor performance) and add pieces from another product that also is a piece of shit to make a "new and improved product". I'm not allowed the time to do the analysis required to head off any problems before the prototype is made. The prototype never gets scrapped. No matter how badly it performs they are willing to pour unlimited money and resources into it to force it to be marginally acceptable. Often this has to be done with every single one of these products through the entire production run. How many of you out there have ever heard the Johnny Cash song "one piece at a time"? It's like taking pieces out of two worn-out jigsaw puzzels and trying to make the picture of your choice from them. It's a waste, and a embarassment, and I'm disgusted. I had to meet a customer on delivery day once, and he was shocked at what a piece of shit it was.

So, I have been laid off for a few months now. I came to the conclusion that I was not going back, but due to financial circumstances I may have to go back to my long commute and boring ass job. I really don't want to go back. Just thinking of sitting in traffic for 45 minutes or more one way just makes me cringe. Then when I get to work, I have to sit for the whole time I am there, then I sit in traffic again on my way home. What the life I am going to have. I guess I will not be stressed about how to make the bills.

Fuck...this is not why I became an engineer. My group is run by a bunch of screwoffs and fuckups that don't even know how to run a damn computer. In 18 mnonths I was already promoted to senior staff right out of collge!! That is how fucked up it is! Now i've lost all my goddamn skill sets to get out of this nightmare and am goddamn trapped here. I keep applying somewhere else but no one wants to hire someone with a fucked up background from my job,. Awesome GPA and nothing to show for it...fucked up my life because I got duped and fell for what sounded cool but was in peril of being closed down before I got hired.

I’m a Freaking Engineer … started my “First” job as a Senior Engineer and elevated within 2 years to a Project Manager and within 6 months to Business Development Manager … and here I am … a year later … 3 years of work and a manager already... lucky right?! Well NOOOOOOOOOOOO … NOT LUCKY … I HATE IT … I’m chocking with tears … I HATE IT … I would rather cooking or cleaning someone’s house rather than doing any of those jobs … This is too painful … I left my last job and I don’t want to go back … The manager calling me often and asking me to come back … but I can’t … and what’s hurting me even more that I like art and design … and no one will take me in those fields with my freaking Engineering degree … no one willing to give me a chance … I want to design … am damn good at it and it’s all I want to do … this is NOT FAIR … I really don't know what to do!! :””(

if i need to email someone in this office, im doing so because it would give them time to think about and return an answer, instead of my having to interrupt their thought process with a visit to their office.

our IT bitch-- i emailed her THREE times about a printing problem. she just ignored the emails, i guess. speak of the she-devil-- i can hear her now, over wall of my cube, gabbing away as usual. does anyone have a harpoon?

my supervisor (but not my "boss")- same thing. i know shes swamped, but if she will ignore my emails, i hope she never emails ME telling me shes been kidnapped and imprisoned in an abandoned warehouse.

i just questioned my boss about on of the interns taking it upon himself to seek rewards that my boss clearly told him were not for his taking. ya i'm a rat but damnit the know-it-all-don't-really-know anything intern needs to learn his place. fucker.

why why WHY are interns paid more than the engineers? if we all worked 40 hour weeks i would be making more than the know-it-all-really-don't-know-shit and lazyass interns...however i put in about a 50-55 hour week and i am salary (no overtime) but they just got raises and put in about 55-60 hour weeks getting paid buy the hour with overtime! the fuckers bring home a bigger paycheck than me and i've been here longer and have a f'in degree. i would stay and work more hours if i was pulling in overtime but NOOOO! does this problem exist with other people? i mean i don't think i would be upset if they were just here for a few months but they've been here for almost a year! and one has graduated with and still is an intern...bastard.

Okay heres the thing. I dont know bout the rest of uze but I literally count the seconds till my shift ends. Picture this, endless rows of desks filled with people in my exact position..head down, pens up signing away. Let me tell you, we are better off..even though the boss might not know it. He sits with his back facing us and stares outside his window. Well, ocassionaly he turns and faces us and I could swear that all the moisture in his eyes are gone..hes got nothing left. What can i say, would i rather keep my job or become 'successful'? Well if that (the boss) is successful than I aint sure anymore.

seriously, this is the worst job you could possibly have. I am completely sick and tired of the 'rewards' you receive for hard work. I mean come bloody on!! you work your but off for hours on end, day after friking day and what is your REWARD!!! A bloody so called luncheon (notice...its a luncheon not a lunch..like wtf??) with the boss.
GOD!! Like i wanna have lunch with the one and only guy who id like to stab in the left eye..oh well...atleast im gettin paid..maybe thats the problem.

Well, any more reqards and im outta here...thats for sure. Go to uni for 4 years, get an engineering degree to sit at a desk, sign papers, look at maps and go to luch with the boss for 40g a year minus tax...hmmm, not to mention the so called "life expenses" and my boss' idea of "voluntary payments" to the company (which are infact not voluntary at all). Oh well, back to work...just 35 years left till early retirement.

Gonna quite my shitty fucking job. I am underpaid, underemployed and underpain. My fucking head creates a new reality everytime I go to work. Boss(Iamafuckingidiotmotherfucker)man can't remember shit 10 seconds from telling him. Uneducated Village People wanta be lisp having motherfucker. Meetings because he feels left out of the loop. You are left out of the loop. No loop for people like you. How is it that I work for someone that does nothing all day and yet has the balls to question why I don't have a project done? HMMMMMM. Maybe if I sucked off the pres of the company I could have his job.

I am a mere pleb in the corporate ladder of hell so I do expect to have a certain amount of crap pushed in my direction . They say it rolls down hill and I'm guessing that I must work at the bottom of Everest and my manager at the summit where I think he spends his days shovelling crap over the edge , well maybe not him as he's a lazy fuckwit .He must employ someone else to do the shovelling as a) I don't think he'd know which end to pick it up with and b) He's probably sucked that much ass he likes the taste and would just chow down on the brown .
Anyways , I work as a low ranking electrical\electronic engineer within a mid sized company , I don't get paid well because I work on maintenance repair and within the company thats as low as it gets unless you clean the toilets with your own tooth brush which by the way is probably easier to live with . I have most of Satans(boss) work to do as he doesn't seem to grasp any task given to him , I have sort of lived with being his bitch for the last few months but eventually I had to speak up . I have had all of my work and designs stolen by this human pile of excrement and passed off as his own , he got a healthy rise whilst I got a pay freeze . I have also been given the blame for any job that needed a time extension or re-spec work even though it isn't even my job , I tried explaining this to his boss and basically was told that the company depended upon people like my boss and I should try and work more like him .
