Once again he makes no sense

Well, it's time to rant RIGHT NOW at work about something. So I have been on shift since last Thursday and will be off tomorrow (this Thursday). Yep, it is a 7 day shift where I am on 24hours. Thats fine but I usually get a break when the kid goes to school from 8am to 12pm on weekdays. Well that didn't happen because we went on a trip on Monday and came back yesterday. Well the poor little guy has gotten a cough (this kid is forever getting sick due to the stress level of being the son of his father). So the dad and I talk about the fact that he is not feeling well while waiting at the airport yesterday.

And so the nanny adventures begin

Well, let's start off by saying that my boss is a multi-million/billionaire.
He is part of a very influential family and a total nut job. I have been here for almost a year... I know I know...but hey, the money is good.

His kid, ofcourse, is a total spoiled brat. No discipline whatsoever. He asks a 4 year old what they want to eat, do, etc. I was trained that choices should be limited and to not ask open-ended questions. It turns out that he has to fight an uphill battle to do the right thing and the little guy wins. Children need boundaries.
The poor kid has it tough as it is with a gold-digger for a mother.

College temporary drop-out

Well, I will start off by saying that I was 3 years into a bachelor's degree before I took this job that I hate sooo much! I was broke and decided to take time off to get re-make the money that was gone. I had a job that I loved as an intern at the State civil rights agency helping people but, just my life, the pay totally sucked.
Well, I continued my job search in hopes of making more so I could go back and finish my last 3 semesters sooner.
Well I found that job and thought I was the luckiest person in the world until about 3 months into it. I was hired as a nanny to care for one pre-school age child. I work 15-16 days per month, 24hours per day on schedule. So I average about 300 or so hours per month. The schedule is totally random: 5 days on, 2 days off, 7 days on, 9 days off, 1 day here, 3 days there...etc. and I get three months worth of scheduling sent to me ahead of time. I thought that was all fine and dandy. How hard could it be to get paid to live with a father and his son and help out by cooking and spending time with the child and the father be there THE ENTIRE TIME!!! Piece of cake right? Abso-fucking-lutely wrong!

A rat is a rat

First I'm flushing his breakfast down the toilet because along with aim problems he doesn't want to dirty his precious hands on the toilet handle. I'd love to put a target on the toilet but he'd know it was me and I'd get fired for sure. But let me tell you on the mornings he's had a Denver omelette along with those little tater tots they serve with it, it would be worth it.
Today I had the pleasure of chasing a rat out of the trailer (office) who had just came out of the restroom. He looked disqusted though so maybe he was frustrated that he couldn't flush the old man's shit either.
The old boy had sympathy for me. He put traps out so I can find a dead or injured rat when I get here in the morning. Can't put bait out because it costs too much! LOL I think the big rat might be a relative to the little one with 4 legs. At least he shits outside.

I hate the scumbag I work for. I was promised a raise and a promotion, guess what? I got the promotion. Also, I was told by my boss not to help the person who took my old job, so I helped, but on the sneak.

Meanwhile, the boss of my old position is new, and when she couldn't take it anymore she went and said "Someone told me that so and so couldn't help us" Of course they denied ever having said that, and they suspect that I am the someone who said I was told that I couldn't help.

I want to move on, but I don't want to look like a job hopper. I used to have an awesome track record. Seve

Family Dynamics

My sister has been trying to persuade me to become her nanny for a while. She’s due in the summer and wants me to give her an answer in a couple of months so she can make other plans if I can’t do it. The most recent e mail conversation went something like:
“Sorry our conversation was brief, I’m just worried, you seem lost etc etc., I don’t want to influence your decision. You shouldn’t choose taking care of the baby over your marriage etc etc.” I replied and said “Look, all I want is a simple life. Don’t need a fabulous job, expensive things blah blah blah. Maybe part of my problem is my world view. I feel like I’m coming out of the closet by saying this but: I think I’m a primitivist.” She writes back,. “Primitivist, socialist, minimalist, you’ve had too much time on your hands to think. All I know is that when I used to analyze everything from outside, waiting for things to happen, I was not happy.” She says that her and her husband don’t work hard just in order to live an extravagant lifestyle, “it just makes life easier.” They both have large salaries and wish to keep it this way.

Should I Consider a Career in Topless Dancing??????

The Irony that is a killer is there are folks that work as waitstaff, bartenders, etc. that can make more on their jobs than many a recent college grad.

But the Mother of all Fuck Up's is why a Stoned out of her Gourd Topless Dancer who doesn't even need a GED gets to bring home hundreds of dollers a night?

Makes me wonder what a hot chick with an education is really worth. Should I try to be gainfully employeed, yet shit on and underpaid, --or should I take the easy way out, shake my booty, save up and start my own business?

I thought about embezzelment, armed theft, employee hostage taking, etc.... But then that would be lowering myself down to the level of uppermanagement's business practices.

In my cubicle at work, I have a candy bowl, filled with candy that anyone is welcome to have. Well someone brought in crackers, and candy today. Our HR director was talking to my supervisor jokingly and said that not only am I supplying candy that is making them overweight, I am now throwing in carbohydrates as well. She went on to say we are going to have to fire me because of that. To which my supervisor laughed and turned around and looked at me with a big smile and said "Did you hear that, were going to have to fire you" rather louldy. So I held up the candy bowl and shook it around and laughed (good front, I was pissed).

I hate my job. It sucks really bad. I mean, jesus!! it sucks. All day long i pick up heavy ass boxes and depending on little details put them in certian places. I do this for hours unending, pushing myself harder and harder, to the brink of death everyday! And do I get a break? NO!! Of fucking corse not! Can I just go la la la and get a coke and drink it? NO! It shouldnt bother me cause during the weekdays i work 5 hours but sunday!! I work like 8 and I dont get one damn moment to recompose myself. And of course the supervisor just fucking stands there bitching about 1 fucked up package. If one package outta hundreds go outta place everyone gets this bull shit speech.
